[Text by Amberle Ferrian] "Beauty and the Birthday" (batbday.gif, 1016x634x2, 24252 bytes) is the eighteenth in a continuing series of fine Disney fanart drawings by Bob Ito , and the fourth in the so-called "Bucketland Cards" series of handmade greeting cards, "when you're too cheap to buy a card." :-) Those of you familiar with Bob's drawings know that he likes to create "what if" scenes with his favorite Disney characters. What if Belle was born a mermaid? ("Belle as Mermaid", bellemer.gif) What if Belle had posed for the Mona Lisa? ("Mona Belle", monabelle.gif) What would Belle and the Beast look like on their honeymoon in Hawaii? ("Beauty and the Beach", batbeach.gif) This drawing continues that tradition. Suppose Beast had learned when Belle's birthday was, before he gave her his library? Here, we see what a hypothetical scene from the movie might be like had this occurred... This is a scan of a handmade birthday card drawn by Bob; signed by him, David Cuthbert, David Uy, and Jeff Wilson; and sent to me, Amberle Ferrian. (I turned 26 on 7 May.) The image is divided into four sections: Left: front cover Right, top: inside left flap (the card was arranged like a looseleaf notebook portfolio) Right, center: inside right flap (blank--personal message in "banner" deleted) Right, bottom: lower half of back cover Personal messages have been deleted, as with all "Bucketland Cards" images. Thanks very much, guys! That was really sweet of you!
