"Ariel Star" (aristar1.gif, 606x768x2, 8062 bytes) is the fifty-sixth in a continuing series of fine Disney fanart drawings by Bob Ito <ito@[...]> You may wish to save this description in a separate file for future reference.

There were two versions of the poster for "The Little Mermaid." One consists of bright, cheery kiddie art, full of characters, and is found on the video package. It's quite nice. However, what is arguably the more memorable poster artwork is that of Ariel sitting on a rock in the middle of the water, silhouetted against the full moon. This hauntingly beautiful artwork was based on the painting "Stars" by Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966). Here, Bob depicts another view of this cover artwork.

"Ariel Can't Drive 55" (ariel55.gif, 640x508x2, 8245 bytes) is the fifty-seventh in a continuing series of fine Disney fanart drawings by Bob Ito <ito@[...]> You may wish to save this description in a separate file for future reference.

With apologies to Sammy Haggar:

"Don't wanna go slow, with legs I'm alive...
Faster still--wanna go out and drive...
Eric's scared, but I just can't live a lie--
I can't drive 55!"

One of the unforgettable scenes from "The Little Mermaid" was Eric turning over the reigns of his carriage over to Ariel, who cracks the whip and drives them nearly off a cliff with a steely glint in her eyes. Suppose, though, that the movie was set in modern times. Eric, being a prince, would have a sports car for driving around the kingdom with Ariel. So what would happen when he hands over the keys to her? This drawing is the result.

"Cheesecake Belle" (belleche.gif, 865x696x2, 10107 bytes) is the fifty-eighth in a continuing series of fine Disney fanart drawings by Bob Ito <ito@[...]>. You may wish to save this description in a separate file for future reference.

Like most folks, Bob picks up the paper every morning and reads it with breakfast. But unlike many folks, he sometimes gets inspired by what he sees in the news and actually draws it out. In this case, it's not some political squabble or foreign revolution, but an--ahem--bathing suit ad. So here's his favorite heroine, Belle, in the exact same pose seen that morning by Bob.

"Be Our Guest, Meeko!" (meekobug.gif, 917x693x2, 21172 bytes) is the fifty-ninth in a continuing series of fine Disney fanart drawings by Bob Ito <ito@[...]> You may wish to save this description in a separate file for future reference.

Perhaps the best way to describe this picture is in Bob's own words himself: this is from his "where-does-he-get-those-goofy-ideas" file. Here, we see how the ever-hungry Meeko from "Pocahontas" might have been had he been in the jungle world of Timon and Pumbaa from "The Lion King". Meeko, we warned you not to go just around the riverbend.....

"Mt. Toonmore" (rushmore.gif, 897x686x2, 15733 bytes) is the sixtieth in a continuing series of fine Disney fanart drawings by Bob Ito <ito@[...]> You may wish to save this description in a separate file for future reference.

In the spirit of his earlier drawing "Liberty Belle", Bob lampoons another American icon. Will the South Dakota landscape ever be the same again? Will they even let Bob into the state anymore after this drawing? Time will tell!
